This is a full course. The expected total number of hours 516. Theoretical hours 96 . Practical 420 hours.
The course enables the learner/s acquire knowledge and skills in integrated reproductive health enable them provide comprehensive services that will meet clients needs.
This is a course in neonatology. It is a full course that will run for the whole year comprising of theoretical instructions as well as practical. The expected total number of hours allocated is 80 hours of 20 hours theory and 60 hours practical. The mode of teaching will be lecture method,discussions,Problem based learning (PBL),Peer review,conference,seminar and through the e-learning platform.
The overall aim of this course is to equip learners with basic knowledge and skills in the care of the newborn with and without complications.
You are expected to complete four (4) continuous assessments- two (2) tests and two (2) assignments which add up to your final grade.
You are also expected to do clinical assessments and simulations in selected practical skills.The practical examination is in form of Observed Structural Clinical Examination (OSCE).
Expected competencies include but not limited to the ability to offer essential new born care.
