COURSE AIM:
To equip students with knowledge and skills in mental health to enable them understand human behaviour and manage clients with mental health disorders.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course, students should be able to:
- Describe normal human behaviour
- Describe abnormal human behaviour
- Describe common psychiatric conditions
- Manage mentally ill patients
- Use family as a primary resource in rehabilitating the patients
- Identify resources within the community for rehabilitation of mentally ill
- Utilize the available resources in rehabilitation of the mentally ill
- Apply communication skills in identifying clients at risk with the family and community.
This is a full course. The expected total number of hours 130. Theoretical hours 60 . Practical 70 hours.
The course enables the learner/s to utilize the anatomy and physiology of the male and female reproductive systems in identifying and meeting sexuality and reproductive health needs of clients.

General objective.
The course enables the learner to demonstrate knowledge and skills in surgery and management of patients with various surgical conditions .

COURSE AIM: The Aim of the course is to equip the student with knowledge and skills in the management of clients with medical disorders in the hospital, health centre and community.
COURSE OBJECTIVES: At the end of the course the student should be able to:
- Describe the common medical conditions affecting various systems of the body.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in creating awareness in the management, prevention and control of common infectious diseases in the hospital, health centre and community settings.
- Interpret medical diagnostic investigations and prescribe relevant drugs and other interventions.
- Apply the appropriate nursing models in the management of patients/clients.
